Italian cuisine: make it by yourself

In Italy there is a great number of typical regional products and specialities… what about learning how to prepare them?
There are many opportunities to attend professional or informal cooking classes. You can choose from different proposals, from an expert and Michelin-starred awarded chef to the caring granny Giovanna: they are all willing to share their knowledge and experience with you.

– Learn how to make Italian GNOCCHI with Granny Giovanna:

When Giovanna was a child she learned how to prepare gnocchi from her mother, and now that she’s a granny she still prepares her delicious potato speciality for her family. Succulent gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese or tomato sauce await you, but you’ll eat them only after you’ve prepared them with your own hands.

– in the Lake Maggiore hillside area, in romantic Massino Visconti, Simona is ready to welcome you with her food experience: you’ll prepare pasta fresca, risotto and/or tiramisù with Daniela, a cook with a passion for the genuine cuisine. Simona organizes this fun experience in her home or – in good weather – on her home’s terrace, from which you’ll enjoy a breath-taking view of the lake. If you aren’t brave enough to prepare ravioli or tagliatelle by hand, don’t worry, the two ladies also offer original food experiences in which you’re only expected to eat!
Simona and Daniela also provide baskets for your excursions: imagine a wonderful day on a private boat, with your guide telling you about the beauties of the area, and your personalized basket to share with family or friends.
From appetizers to desserts, they select only regional and genuine products to allow you to taste the flavours of this area: “from farm to home” as they love to say.

– from Italy to London and back – with success!
Marco Tozzi is one of the most appreciated chefs in the Lake District. He was born near Lake Maggiore, and after he studied at the famous Istituto Alberghiero E. Maggia of Stresa, he gained much experience in the best Italian and European restaurants and resorts – such as Elba Island, Lake Garda, Swiss resorts and London. After that, he decided to come back to his homeland and open his own restaurant: the exclusive Madè.
You could learn how to prepare homemade Pici (pasta) with him, mixing flour and water with your hands, and you’ll prepare the best sauce ever by following his instructions.

You’ll then taste the appetizing result of your work in a relaxing location while enjoying a glass of wine or a delicious cocktail.
No matter what you choose, what’s important is to make something to eat with your own hands!
